1. Follow Up After Events
The key to effective networking is maintaining the connections you’ve made:
Send a personalized message: Within a few days of the event, send a follow-up email or social media message. Reference your conversation and express your interest in staying in touch or even meeting up over coffee/lunch if appropriate.
Share valuable content: If you come across an article, book, or event that might interest someone you met, send it their way. It shows you’re thinking of them and value the connection.
Stay active on social media: Engage with the people you’ve met by liking, commenting on, or sharing their content over social media. It may seem a frivolous thing, but in today’s world it matters and can greatly help them.
2. Build a Support Network
Developing a network of supportive, like-minded individuals is crucial for long-term success:
